Playground Status: The playground is currently closed so the Bureau of Engineering (BOE) can safely perform work near the access ramp by the Studio City Recreation Center building.
Overall Project Timeline: The broader construction project remains on track, with an anticipated completion and grand opening date in early 2027.

Universal Roller Coaster

The Studio City Neighborhood Council (SCNC) voted to support the Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council in addressing noise concerns regarding Universal Studios Hollywood's new Fast & Furious Roller Coaster.
Lankershim Streetscape Plan
Posted on 09/03/2026Help shape the future of North Hollywood and Lankershim Boulevard!
Toluca Lake Beautification Partners in collaboration with LA City Council District 2 and the LA Department of City Planning, is launching the final streetscape planning effort for Lankershim Blvd between Riverside Drive and the LA River.
This project completes a vision first set in motion in 2012. Once finalized through community feedback, the design elements – trees, lighting and seating -- will be submitted to the City for formal inclusion in the Southeast Valley Community Plan update.
