Sunday Construction/Tree Trimming

If you hear the sound of power tools or observe tree trimming activities taking place in Los Angeles on a Sunday, please be aware that this is against city regulations. Hired contractors are strictly prohibited from working on Sundays. Unfortunately, enforcement remains a challenge since LA City inspectors do not operate on Sundays. While you do have the option to contact the LAPD, such reports are generally considered low priority.

Permitted Construction Hours in Los Angeles:

• Monday through Friday: 7:00 A.M. – 9:00 P.M.
• Saturday and National Holidays: 8:00 A.M. – 6:00 P.M.
• Sunday: No Work Permitted

To report a noise complaint related to construction outside of these allowable hours, please contact the LAPD by dialing 311.
