The SCNC has several goals for the series::
We want to establish a series of events where stakeholders can come together with
common purpose and create community. This event does that because it offers families
the opportunity to join their students as they fulfill their community service obligations.
One SCNC goal is to raise the profile of the River as a community amenity for Studio City.
There is no better way for people to appreciate the River and the open space that
surrounds it than spending time outside and near the River.
We want to nurture strong relationships between the major players in Studio City and
create opportunities to work together to better the community.
The Zev Greenway offers a great outdoor classroom. This is one of the largest restored
habitats around, and it shows that “if you build it they will come.” The Zev was originally
created with funding from a carbon offset grant due the widening of the 405 Freeway. The
thoughtful selection of native plants has thrived through wet years and drought, and
attracts a tremendous number of birds and other animals. The Zev is a great example of
what the other sections of the bank could look like along the River through Studio City.

1) Sturdy shoes for working and walking are required.

4) Tree People will supply all the tools including gloves, but if attendees have their own work
gloves they should bring them.
5) Everyone should have a water bottle, but its best if you bring a supply of drinks and
snacks for your participants.
6) There is one “Porta Potty” on the western side of the Zev. It’s clean and well maintained
but it is not glamorous.
7) Liability waiver for every attendee. Please complete in advance.
