Dear Neighborhood Council leaders,
Today, the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners with a vote of 5 ayes, voted to continue virtual meetings for 30 more days. In addition, the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners voted with a vote of 5 ayes to rescind their March 2022 board resolution to have Neighborhood Councils have virtual-only board and committee meetings. What this means is that starting tomorrow, February 28, 2023, and until March 29, 2023, Neighborhood Councils will have the option to have their boards and committees meet in-person or virtually. After March 29, 2023, all board and committee meetings will no longer be able host virtual-only meetings. Boards/Committees will be required to meet in-person or hybrid per the guidelines provided in AB2449. This will be the last time the Board of Neighborhood Commissioners will be able to vote on this matter because the state declared emergency ends tomorrow, February 28, 2023.
