Ventura Place Parking Plan

Posted on 04/15/2026

Trying to park on Ventura Place has become something of a nightmare.   The City is moving forward with a new plan.

🅿️ What’s Changing?

The layout of Ventura Place (between Laurel Canyon Blvd and Ventura Blvd) will change to better serve local shops and visitors:

  • North Side Upgrade:  Parallel parking will be switched to mostly angled parking (featuring both 60° and 45° designs). This increases the north side capacity from 24 spaces to 48 spaces—a net gain of 24!
  • South Side Adjustments: South side parking will remain parallel, shifting from 12 spaces to 7 to accommodate better street geometry.
  • Overall Impact: This project creates a net gain of 19 parking spaces for the block.
  • Traffic Flow:  All existing turn lanes at intersections are being retained to keep traffic moving.

🛠️ Design Highlights

  • Safety First: New wheel stops will be installed to protect sidewalks from vehicle overhangs.
  • ADA Accessible: The plan includes dedicated ADA-compliant angled stalls on the north side.
  • Clearer Signage: Updated parking meters and time-limit signs (2-hour parking, 8 AM – 8 PM) will help improve turnover for local businesses.
