Go green. Breathe Cleaner air. Invest in your health. Go electric!

Posted on 03/19/2024

Per the California Air Resources Board, one hour of using a typical gas powered lawn mower emits as much pollution as a gas powered car driving 300 miles (from LA to Las Vegas), and one hour of using of a typical gas powered leaf blower emits as much pollution as a gas powered car driving 1100 miles from LA to Denver!

California bans the sale of gas powered leaf blowers and lawnmowers, and the City of Los Angeles bans the use of gas powered blowers within 500 feet of a residence which is enforceable against gardeners and homeowners.

Replace your gasoline powered leaf blowers and lawnmowers with cleaner energy electric yard equipment. Leaf blowers for the typical front and back yards in Studio City cost under $250. The South Coast Air Quality Management District gives $250 rebates to replace gas powered lawnmowers with electric lawnmowers.

National 311 Day is March 11

Posted on 03/06/2024

The City of Los Angeles will mark National 311 Day with a week-long campaign aimed at encouraging usage among Angelenos by showcasing the many services accessible through the City’s MyLA311 platform. Currently, MyLA311 provides access to 68 service request types across 11 City departments, addressing commonly requested services such as bulky item pickup, graffiti removal, and illegal dumping.

This week-long initiative will showcase the process of accessing MyLA311 to request many City services, including bulky item pickup, graffiti removal, pothole repair, addressing illegal dumping, managing fallen trees, pet adoption, and reporting streetlight outages.

During this period, adoption fees for dogs will be $51, puppies $75, cats $12.50, and kittens $25. Notably, furry companions adopted from LA Animal Services will join their new families already spayed/neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and, for LA City residents, licensed.
